Tony has also been a real estate agent since 1980. Couch Auction & Realty opened in Florence, AL in 1995 and expanded to Atlanta, GA in 2004, and to Tennessee in 2007. Jean Batson has been with Couch Auction & Realty since 1996 as bookkeeper and Administrative Assistant since 2006. She helps with every step of the auctions from booking to closing.
Jean obtained her real estate license in 2003 and has since earned the GRI, SRES, and ASP designations as a REALTOR®, holds memberships with REBAC (Real Estate Buyers Agency Council), Council of Residential Specialists, Women’s Council of Realtors, Shoals Chamber of Commerce, and is a graduate of Auburn University. KC Roberson Auctioneer & Affiliate Broker
A native Tennessean, K.C. obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree from Middle Tennessee State University in Agribusiness & Business Administration. As a third- generation auctioneer, K.C. has been around auctions all of his life. He started at an early age helping his father plan, prepare and conduct auctions. This helped to prepare K.C. for his future career. He graduated from the Missouri Auction School and for the next 20 years has been a full time “contract auctioneer” for various auction companies which include large corporate and privately owned automobile auctions and numerous independent Realty & Auction companies. He conducts between 250 – 300 auctions per year. He is uniquely positioned to serve clients with his experience and knowledge.

Rhonda Derrick Computer Clerk
I have been in the work force for over 20 years in manufacturing environments and private education. I am experienced in accounting, bookkeeping, and computer information systems. I am originally from Utah, having relocated to Florence in June of 2000. I have been working with Tony on auctions for about 3 years, prior to that I worked as a volunteer and coordinator of an annual school fundraising auction for 5 years. I am married with one son and enjoy crafts of all types. My husband and I are involved in our church and in a volunteer capacity in our community.
Ben Gunter Auction Ringman
Ben Gunter is a 2000 World Champion Ringman. He has been in the auction business since 1992. He works regularly for many auctions in Alabama and Georgia including Atlanta Auto Auction, National Power Sports Auctions (NPA), Center Point Auto Auction, Cullman Auto Auction, Alabama Auto Auction, and Athens Auto Auction. Couch Auction & Realty is proud to have Ben with our company. His skill helps us get top dollar at our auctions. He lives in Rainbow City, AL with his wife and 2 children.
Don Strait Auction Coordinator
Don has 15 years experience in the auction business. Don is our auction coordinator and is skilled at setting up our auctions. He is a retired full-time technician with the National Guard and is a life-time resident of Lauderdale County, AL.
Chris Hensley Apprentice Auctioneer
Chris Hensley was born and raised in Morgan County, Alabama.I graduated from HartselleHigh School in 1992. I have worked mostly in banking and finance, lending some, but mainly marketing and liquidating real estate and all sorts of other assets. After about 14 years, I began work as manager at an automobile auction. It seemed like a good fit because I liked attending auctions (mostly horse sales), and I have always liked cars. After about nine months there, I decided I wanted to learn the auctioneering side and learn to handle the entire sale of other things. I graduated from NashvilleAuctionSchool in February of 2009, and have not looked back. I love the business and look forward to the opportunity to help serve people and institutions in North Alabama.
Ralton McCarley obtained his Alabama Real Estate License in 1996 and his Alabama Associate Broker License in 2000. After serving the Alabama real estate community for fourteen years he obtained his Tennessee Affiliate Broker Real Estate License in 2010. Ralton’s Tennessee real estate interest and involvement has continued to grow since 1995 when he and his wife purchased a vacation rental home in Pigeon Forge area. Ralton is a graduate of Samford University, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY where he earned his doctorate.
